Apply for recognition of a specialist qualification

If you are a doctor or dentist, you can apply for recognition of a specialist qualification after completing specialization service (ST). As a nurse, you can apply for the right to be called a specialist nurse. Before you apply for a specialist qualification you need to apply for a Swedish license, If you have not already done so.

We stop signing Certificates of specialist expertise

As of 1 July 2021, the National Board of Health and Welfare will stop signing Certificates of specialist expertise for doctors and dentists. We will also not sign the new certificates of approved basic service (BT).
